The project included modifications to the geometry and configuration of the Metra Southwest Service Line Bridge including raising the bridge profile.<\/p>\n<p>The scope of services included the removal and replacement of the railroad bridge over US 45 and a separate pedestrian bridge adjacent to the existing Metra\/Norfolk Southern Railroad bridge over US 45. This contract also included retaining walls and decorative lighting design for multi-use path and underpass lighting, and miscellaneous site civil and electrical work to relocate existing utilities. The retaining walls included a new 530&#8242; long cantilever retaining wall with a retained height of 17&#8242; along a pedestrian path and a 70&#8242; long cantilever wingwall with a retained height of 23&#8242; parallel to US Route 45.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bowman provided Phase II engineering design of a two-span steel through girder railroad bridge.
